Ak-tas, founded in Istanbul in 1989, supplies numerous petrochemicals from prominent global producers and distributes bulk or packaged chemicals to various sectors in Turkey and neighboring countries.

Ak-tas uses its tank terminals in Turkey (Aktas Tank Terminal-Izmit and Aktas Yumurtalık Tank Terminal-Adana) and in Greece (AKFA Tank Terminal-Chalkida-Evia) to store chemicals, primarily solvents. The company has also storage areas in many regions of Turkey to be able to distribute drummed and packaged chemical products without interruption.

Ak-tas is ranked the 308th company in Fortune 500 Turkey List with its solo 2016 results and the 279th company with its solo 2017 results. The company strongly aims to preserve and strengthen its position as one of the leading exporters in Turkey, particularly into markets in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, CIS countries and the US.
