Acrylic Design Awards 2019, organized by Lucite International and Ak-tas Dis Ticaret A.S., their distributor in Turkey, was finalized.  This competition was organized with MIMARSIV coordination to celebrate the 26^th year of the Lucite – Aktas cooperation and to show this strategic partnership’s commitment to the Turkish market.

Students, academicians, jury members and designers, as well as the leading representatives of the acrylic sector, attended this event in Rahmi Koc Museum on the night of 4^th April.

In the first year of this competition in Turkey, there were 105 applicants from various universities.  The winners, chosen by the jury consisting of Industrial Product Designer Arif Özden, Interior Architect Atilla Kuzu, Ak-tas Dis Ticaret A.S. Board Member Aysegul Denkel, Architect Assoc. Prof. Dr Ece Ceylan Baba, Artist Gunseli Kato, Architect Melike Altinisik and Architect Sebnem Buhara, are listed below;

First Prize: Ozan Demir, Ege Yildiz, Levent Atak — Yeditepe University / Department of Architecture

Second Prize: Ilker Toruk — MSGSU / Department of Industrial Design

Third Prize:  Sueda Sena Tokul, Ece Oner, Zeynep Tugrul — Yasar University / Department of Industrial Design

Honourable Mention: Ilke Cemre Engudar ITU / Department of Industrial Design

Jury’s Special Award:  Levent Atak, Ozan Demir, Ege Yildiz — Yeditepe University / Department of Architecture

Lucite EMEA Monomers Business Director, Mr. Malcolm Kidd, and Ak-tas Dis Ticaret A.S. Chairman, Mr. Muharrem Aktas, awarded the prizes to the winners and announced that Acrylic Design Awards will be organized in 2020 as well.
